Ever thought about filming an accident, if so, you better change your perspectives, as this action might just end up sending you to jail. Still cannot believe me, well ask 15 drivers who stand to face a possible jail term for filming an accident.
The 15 drivers were using their mobile phones to film a lorry collusion that involved for lorries which piled up along the highway. The whole incident took place at the A 14, that’s between the Girton and Histon, in Cambridgeshire at around 5:45 am on May the 28th.
The lorries involved in the collusion included a lorry which was carrying a teddy bear load totaling up to 7 ½ tonnes. Two of the drivers suffered minor injuries and they were taken to new by hospital where they were later released.
As much as this news might come as a surprise to many people, arrests which are related to mobile phones is actually something not that new. According to Crown Prosecution Service, in 2011 alone there were at least over 7,000 arrest which were related to mobile phones and this year the it expects the number to grow 10 times.
However that figure is small if compared to the arrests which are made because of motorists using their mobile phones while driving. According to the service, the total number of arrest which are related to this type of activity was at least 500,000 in 2014. In February, the government also released its own numbers and they indeed confirmed that the number was above 500,000 cases.
