The War Of 1812 - A Recapitualtion
This war began through heated tension between the United States and Britain. During this time, America was heavily populated with Native American Indians. Believing they were robbed of their land, the American Indians accepted help given to them by Britain. This help came in the form of guns, many guns.
The American Indians immediately started using these guns against the America people. This made America publicly declare war on Britain in the year 1812. Though America made progress by annihilating Britain, they lost almost thirty thousand soldiers. This caused America to call on the young men of the country in order to make the army large again.
During this war, the White House was burned down. This was mainly because no one was there to protect the homeland. To this day, historians are confused as to how no one could be there during this event.
America, however, did not just sit back and do nothing. They went to war, and they took over all of the Britain territory. After this war, people everywhere considered America the most powerful country in the world.
Though this war considered one of the worst wars because of how many people died, two beautiful things came from this. The first beautiful thing was the American national anthem, which was written after Britain was defeated. Francis S. Key wrote the anthem with full confidence in the country.
The second great thing that came from this was a peace agreement that came from Britain a few years after the war.
