Renewable energy companies along with its suppliers are suffering without any reason due to these subsidies, informed Managing Director Soenke Tangermann from Greenpeace.
She further added that these subsidies can harm ecologies and kill micro businesses. The financial disadvantages of nuclear projects are huge. EDF, a French corporation is going to build the plant which is expected decrease dependence of the Britain on coal powered plants. Countries like Germany are now planning to reduce nuclear plants and generate more powers from solar and wind sources. The Fukushima disaster in Japan questioned the safely of nuclear plants world over.
The activists are accusing that France and Britain are just taking regressive decision by investing more in the nuclear power. The root these countries have chosen to fight climate change is self-destructive. The Hinkley Point plan received £16 billion aid from the European commission.
