On December 6th, 2015, President Obama vowed to find anyone who plotted militant attacks on the U.S.A. He said this to reassure Americans after the California deadly rampage shooting, which has provoked questions regarding security of the United States against extremism. He did his best to respond to the criticism that he has not taken enough action to protect Americans from Islamic State groups. He stated that the terrorism threat is real but American is going to get through it.
His speech to the American people was only a few days after Rizwan Farook and Tashfeen Malik shot up a holiday party for civil servants in San Bernardino, California. They killed fourteen people and wounded many more. They were then killed later this same day in a police shootout. Obama stated that, while it was a terrorist act, it was also the new phase of fighting of Islamists. The U.S. administration would like to get more cooperation from technology companies. Obama also believes that turning against each other is not the answer to beating Islamic militants and home-grown terrorists. If the San Bernadino attack is proven to have links to the Islam, ISIS or any foreign militancy, it will be considered the deadliest incident of that type on United States soil during Obama’s presidency.
